“TECHNOCULTURE 2” : OUVERTURE LE SAMEDI 25 MAI
A DEEP JOURNEY INTO SOUND
Pour le soirée d’ouverture, les Young Gods et La Landwehr s’unissent pour un concert exceptionnel:
les deux entités interpréterons “In C“, pièce du compositeur américain Terry Riley. Composée en 1964, “In C” est considérée comme étant la première œuvre du courant de la musique minimaliste dite également répétitive.
“In C” présente un concept alors inédit : la partition est uniquement composée de 53 phrases musicales, ou riffs ; les musiciens doivent jouer chacun de ces motifs, et le répéter autant de fois qu’ils le veulent avant de passer au motif suivant. Il n’y a aucune contrainte sur le nombre minimal ou maximal de répétitions. Ainsi, la partition de “In C” tient sur seulement une page, et les représentations de cette pièce musicale oscillent entre 45 minutes et 1h30.

“TECHNOCULTURE 2” WILL OPEN ON MAY 25TH :
A DEEP JOURNEY INTO SOUND
For the opening party, The Young Gods and the Landwehr will unite for the first time for an exceptional collaboration. Both “bands” will play “In C“, the famous piece by american composer Terry Riley. Written in 1964, “In C” is often cited as the first minimalist composition.
“In C” consists of 53 short, numbered musical phrases, lasting from half a beat to 32 beats; each phrase may be repeated an arbitrary number of times. In this way, although the melodic content of each part is predetermined, “In C” has elements of aleatoric music to it. The performance normally average between 45 minutes and an hour and a half.
